Need help choosing wall decor!

The space over my dresser is empty and I think it needs something. I'm thinking maybe a large round mirror?

Or would artwork be better?

Any thoughts on shape, size, type would be most welcome!!

I'm afraid the TV may be distracting so would love input on that as well.

The first pic is of one side of my bedroom so you can get an idea of it as a whole.

It looks like the TV is not directly across from your bed. In that case, it needs to be either swivel-able or mounted on a permanent angle. I might consider something like a really large fabric wall-hanging behind it, with all the colors of your room, and not too busy.

Or you could hang the picture now over your bed on that wall, which would then focus attention on that beautiful headboard. In that case, you could place a mirror behind/over each lamp to add some sparkle.

About that wonderful picture - is that Secretariat winning the Belmont Stakes? One of the greatest moments in American sports; I'm thinking of purloining your taste and getting one myself!

A large round mirror and I mean large like 2/3 to 3/4 the size of the dresser. Deep brown wood or wood like maybe burled finish similar to the dresser. Add a large pretty lamp layered in front of the mirror to the side. If possible mount tv on the other side of closet doors. You didn’t ask but if you don’t use the loveseat lose it and recover the bench in a fabric that compliments your colors but is a colorful. Nice dresser and room happy shopping

I agree that a large, round mirror with a heavy dark wood frame would be great over the dresser. You could also use art if you don't really need a mirror in the room. Again, it should have a heavy dark wood frame. I may actually use the picture you currently have over the bed, have it framed and placed over the dresser. I don't think it is adding anything with its current placement and may even detract from the headboard.

The TV should be mounted on the wall. I tend to watch TV in my bedroom while laying in bed. I like the tv up pretty high since while laying down with my head on a pillow, my eyes naturally fall high on the wall. Could the TV be placed on the other side of the doors? We can't see that space in your pictures.

Yes, you have an eagle eye- That is indeed Secretariat winning the Belmont. As a lifelong horse lover, it's a favorite memory from my childhood. And it makes me happy to see it every day!

I think I'd frame Secretariat and hang that one over the dresser. The photo has an angularity to it that isn't complimentary to the curvy headboard, IMO.

Jules - It's not an eagle eye - it's that I have watched that Belmont so many times on YouTube that I can call the race myself! I never imagined, though, that it would be possible to have a photo of his stretch run.

Same here. What I love in this pic is the jockey (Ron Turcotte) checking behind him to see where all the other horses are!

We would mount the TV, perhaps put it on a swivel arm so you can adjust it. Then we would hang the artwork over the bed over the dresser instead as it doesn't seem to go well over the bed currently.
