Drop leaf table with chairs

I'm sure this is nothing special and it's the only pictures I have. My question is what kind of wood is this providing it is wood. Lol and approx year..70''s 80''s ect.

Maifleur, Thank you. I will try to get a picture of the underside and legs when it arrives at my house. I'm in need of a temporary set as everyday use and the price was too good to pass up since at this point I can't invest any or much cash. Anyway my son pain 25$ for the table and 6 chairs. All are in good repair...needing no repairs. They are all sturdy and not lightweight. I like that the sides can drop making for 3 different sized tables. There's 5 in my family which makes this a good size for us. A table pad came with it but as the table top has already seen much wear along with what looks like a hot pot that left a big mark I don't see the sense in using the pad. Anyway Thank you.

The sides of the table does drop down.

I appreciate all you experts.I need a better pic to show the legs, but figured you would be able to dx the wood type.

While the one I have has leaves and not ends that drop yours is probably about the same age as mine which we acquired in 1994 as it appears identical. Mine was sold as oak but where the finish has chipped in several places I have my doubts. Similar tables were sold in many stores at that time. Was normally not sold as a set with chairs so I do not think the chairs are the same age as the table.

As posted, it is oak and could really be 1970's/1980's as they were selling a lot of oak furniture especially with those style chairs in that era. I had a round one I bought in the early 1980's.

That is a great price for functional furniture.
