Is it too early to sow carrots in the container I want them to grow in? I'm in zone 5, south central Indiana. I want to grow carrots in a self watering container made from large black totes. The plan was to make the container without adding water to the reservoir right now and to cover it with plastic until the weather is warmer. I've successfully grown tomatoes in the self watering containers, but never started anything in them as winter sowing and wonder if I'd just kill the carrot seeds. All input is welcomed?
