I had a similar setup in my last house. I like all my drawer/ door handles to align, so I got full height doors on my sink. Home Depot sells the 33mm drill bit you need to move the hinge down below the sink (yes you will have a hole in the wrong place on the back of the door.)

Yes, you can do that. It seems a shame, though... drawers cost a lot more money, and they're a lot more functional.

Here is a screenshot of the Ikea instructions that come with the ventilated top rail (you won't need to install the top rail). Just install similar brackets as shown. Home Depot probably has something.

I'm not sure that install will work, because the sink is already installed. If you attach the brackets to the door front first, and then screw them into the cabinet sides, it might.

How many inches deep is the sink? My sink is really deep and my ikea doors attached without any modification.

I'm curious what size sink base you have and which sink that is that fits so snuggly. I'm shopping for the largest size sink I can fit into a 30" :)

It's not really how deep your sink is as much as how much space there is on the sides. If you try to fit a large sink in a 30" cabinet you will block the space needed for the top hinge and will have to drill a new hole In the door that is below the sink and lines up with the correct holes on the cabinet where the hinge plate will now be positioned.
