Can you tell me what color of Sikkens is used? Is it Cetol? I've not worked with Sikkens before. Your redwood has a nice balance between red and brown. I'm installing a walnut front door, so I'm trying to keep my Western Red Cedar from being too red. Rather, more like walnut when its finished with a clear poly. Here's the screen and ceiling unfinished at my home.

I am wondering what sealant/stain is used on the fence as well. We just installed a redwood fence and need to stain it. I really like this color. Thanks!

Hi folks, unfortunately the project is from a few years back and no one is quite certain what exact sealant was used. However, here is a suggestion: seal a portion of one (extra) fence board with 2-3 different colors, leaving natural wood in between. You could then hold that sample board up to the house / fence to see what color goes best in the actual field conditions on your actual site. Sorry if that is too obvious, but just in case you hadn't thought of it!

We ended up using Behr semi-transparent in red cedar over our redwood fence. It came out perfect. And yes getting a bunch of samples and using a piece of extra wood to test them is the best way to go.
