Towel bars or hooks???

I need some advice on what to use...towel bar or 2 hooks? This is the best picture I could take; as I am backed up against vanity ;-) I bought two 26 inch bars, but will look too crowded. I thought of bar on left and a hook near actually shower. Any advice/ suggestion would be great. Thanks

I think towels dry faster on a bar, but if you only have room for hooks, they work. How about the back of the door for a bar? I have a hook near the top of the door, which is great to hang a robe and a bar 1/3 of the way down for an extra towel. Works well.

In my master, I have one towel bar next to the shower for my husband's towel, and mine hangs on a hook on the back of the entry door. It works for us.

My husband throws his towel over the shower every time so it will 'dry'. I hate it. Designing new house and trying to resolve this issue. Towel bar - his towel would dry better but I'd fuss over it not being hung up straight. Hook - he wouldn't think it would dry enough overnight? Such big issues in life............

We have our towels on two hooks in a similarly sized space. I only buy the quick dry towels from JCPenny to avoid the "not dry" problem. Those towels are amazing!

I agree - both if you can. I have towel bars and a double hook next to the shower. It's a very convenient set up.

Robe hook on the back of the door and this wall is a great place to do something a little more creative than your average towel bar. Try something out of the ordinary like an unusual item used as a towel bar or hook. Maybe a hotel shelf for extra towel storage or if you want hooks then I recommend using three but again use a hook that makes a statement. I don't see a shower enclosure/door so if you are putting in a swing out shower door make sure whatever you put on the wall (towel bars, hooks, etc.) won't be hit by the door.

Another idea for drying towels on hooks is to fasten a loop or sew a large buttonhole into it. This allows the towels to hang all the way down without doubling.

Curlycook - thanks for the towel idea. I'll check it out.
Anne dee - love the hook placement and the luggage rack. I'm leaning towards hooks of some kind for sure.

It depends on how humid he bathroom gets. In some areas, towels get mildew if they're hung on hooks. Rods work better for drying.

curlycook Yes, at IKEA the towels come with the loop sewn about midway down the long side. I'd forgotten about that but is a nice way to be sure the towel stays on the hook and maybe dry better.

Almostretired, thanks for the Ikea towel tip. I am anticipating a three hour drive there soon! Sometimes it is the small things in life that matter......like my not washing towels daily!

Thank you everyone. I see all options as working, but I do love the idea of Scott Design, Inc open ended ring towel holder. Love the first image. Any idea on where to purchase?

Here is a link to start you off. ://www.nameeks.com/product/Towel-Ring/Gedy-5470-13.html. Glad you like the idea. It has worked beautifully for a long time client of mine in her daughter's bathroom. She says it has been the only way her daughter keeps wet towels off the floor or off the bedroom furniture! It never happened with towel bars and hooks weren't big enough or "hooky" enough to hold them. And they actually have a chance to dry before she takes another one of her long showers. Ah, teenage girls...

We use 24" towel bars like these. Room for both of us to hang towels. Bought them at home depot but a zillion places have them.
