great list!

a few I would love to have is:

-kerrii or obovata with inner variegation

-deykei

-Perak teddy bear

-different variations of macrophylla

-and really anything with large veined leaves. I buy hoyas for their foliage not their blooms since I am terrible at getting them to flower.

I would like to have any type (as long as I can get it for a good price). I thought I would like to give kerrii a try.

If you don't have fungii, that's one with large, veined leaves and they're fuzzy/velvety. I buy them for their flowers, and the foliage is nice to look at most of the time lol. I've only had a couple flower for me, too (Red Buttons, fungii, and the lacunosas, oh and bella when I had them). Although Nikki has peduncles on her that she formed last year, so I hope she blooms finally. Finlaysonii "Ripple Leaf" is a good one, too. LOVE the leaves on that one.

Carnosa "Freckles" is one I'd like, too (it sounds like this is the one Gardino's has listed that I posted about. Sadly, it's out of stock currently.).

Yes, I LOVE my fungii, it is such a fast grower and seems to be one of my easier to please hoyas.

I saw Gardino’s leaf picture of their carnosa freckles, it made me realllllyyy want to buy it :). But I hope you snag it when it comes back in stock-just post more pictures here!

finlaysonii ripple leaf is beautiful, I wouldn’t be sad if I was able to add it to my collection one day. Thanks for the suggestions!!

I had to start my fungii over, and it's such a shell of her former self. I have a cutting I took of it that's doing beautifully, however :).

I really want their carnosa "Freckles", too. Especially for those flowers! The closest thing I have to it is my motoskei, also from Gardino's (sadly, I don't see that listed there currently).

You're welcome! Oh, and try to get a couple lacunosa cultivars for something different for leaves. Ruby Sue and Royal Flush and Sno Caps, namely. It's been a while since I've had a lacunosa in my collection.

I bet your fungii will be back to its former glory in no time! I have mine right up in an east window, so far it seems happy but I will probably have to add a window sheer or move it once the summer sun really kicks in. Where do you grow yours? I would love to get mine to flower

Top of my wish list would be Hoya Estrella. It’s rumored to be heavily fragrant and able to fill a room with the scent of a fine mans cologne.

I have a small African violet pot with mixed lacunosa and krohiana...Ruby Sue, Super Eskimo, Royal Flush. All in the same pot. I got a couple of cuttings of each variety and stuck them in the same pot, thinking the different varieties would contrast each other nicely....Nope.... After three years under fluorescent office lighting, they all look the same. Like they all reverted back to their basic origin. It’s very healthy looking and verdant, but has not bloomed. Very slow growing with densely packed leaves, probably due to low or artificial lights. Hoyas are weird, but fun and easy to grow.

My mother plant is in the living room and gets bright, indirect light all day. It's happy, but it's not happy the way it should be lol. The only window that you should have a sheer on for your plants is if they're in a south window. I have blinds on that window, but I pull them up and haven't had any trouble (it might be more southwestern than southern). I have a few Hoyas and other house plants there and they love it. Yes, definitely get yourself a Ruby Sue if you see it. You won't regret it!

Ooh, I forgot about Estrella Falls. That's one I'd like to have, too! Interesting that all your lacunosas reverted. A mixed lacunosa pot would be very pretty, and I'd definitely like to see if they would grow better in natural sunlight. I miss the scent so much.

I’m in good company then! I saw a pubicalyx variety I didn’t have earlier in the week and stayed strong, didn’t buy it. Resolve has crumbled and I am heading there soon. oops...

Pick up something for me ;). The last plant I got was a Gasteria/Ox Tongue at Wally World (known to others as Wal-Mart). A friend on Facebook found lacunosas at his local Lowe's and I wish I was making a trip there soon, but, A.) I'm broke, and B.) No way to get there lol. So life keeps my addiction in check. Unless someone sends me cuttings... :). There's more than just Hoyas I'm itching for.

That’s great your BBS carry them, definitely not the case here! I would love to get to the point where I am just swapping cuttings with people, mine have to get a bit bigger before I can offer much. I started growing hoyas in the fall so I will be curious to see how much they grow this spring and summer!

The BBS around here are hit or miss for Hoyas, sadly. I haven't seen a lacunosa in a while. The only ones I've seen lately are Compacta and bilobata/DS-70, and even then that's been some time ago (months). It's still a little cold to be doing any plant cutting trades or splurging on new plants.

Did you get your pubicalyx and/or anything else?

Side note: I see this 8 x 10 greenhouse for sale where a company has placed several sheds along the highway. Mum and I stopped yesterday to check them out, but no price on it. It's such a gem! Wood floor, mini windows for ventilation (with screens), two tier shelves (wooden). * sigh * It's perfect! But alas, probably out of our budget, since they're a small fortune (and building permits are required for any structures over 10 feet where we live).

I sure hope it works out for you to get one some day! It sounds beautiful. Maybe they would be open to a bit of negotiation? I rarely haggle but when I do I am usually pleasantly surprise at the outcome.

I did get it. It was only labeled ‘hoya’ but the leaves are practically identical to a few small pieces of royal Hawaiian I had, so I just lumped them all together in the same pot. that way it’s not like I REALLY brought a new plant home today ;)

I think the place that builds and sells them have payment plans, but things are kinda tight as it is around here, so who knows. I really would love to have it. What I wouldn't give to have it in the yard. My quiet place. My happy place.
