As far as I know most cuttings benefit from rooting hormone. The only ones I don't use a rooting hormone on are those vines that start to make roots on the living plant. I'm not a fan of rooting in water. I heard from a plant expert that roots that come from rooting in water aren't like the roots that form in soil. He said that those roots fall off and new roots form if they form at all..

When you take cuttings cut just below a leaf or a place where a leaf was. All roots form from a leaf node. Very few plants form roots along the stem

doubt if you need it with coleus ... i would put them in a glass of water .. and AS SOON as i saw root nubs forming ... pot them in media ...

i used to use rooting powder.. for the fungicide in it ... more than for the rooting part ...

are any of the mother plants outdoors ... you might try to break up a mother plant.. and get pieces that already have roots ... else you might not have enough time to get very far .... in the time you have ....

but do not at least try ... two thumbs up for volunteering .... and your donation of time...

These are all annuals so none are outdoors. I overwinter many of my mixed annual planters indoors because I have lots of weird varieties and I can't be sure the downstate nursery I go to once a year will have them when I go.

They really want members to contribute perennials. But the ones I have extras of are the ones EVERYONE has extras of. So they passed a list to limit those. I brought NAMED hostas last year. They didn't sell. It's so early in May that they were not leafed out fully. Sure not doing that again. It's open to the public so many attendees know nothing, just want to fill space.
