Hannah: How large is your sink base cabinet please? You can undermount a 33" sink into a 33" cabinet despite what the sink manufacturers say and without removing your countertop.

No one likes a small sink -- not unless they only ever rewarm and cook frozen lasagna. People may "make do" with it, but no one's going to say, "Yeah, the most heavily used item in the kitchen -- minimize it!"

First, how small is small?

Second, where in the layout does the sink lie, and -- as Joseph asked above -- what's the cabinet size (and the size of anything around it)? Put more simply: What options do you have for enlarging the sink?

I have had two small sinks (36" wide, double bowl) and it was frustrating to use. Washing and rinsing large items like cookie sheets, saute pans with long handles, and a wok required a lot of thought to strategize how to rinse suds off this side without rinsing them ON to an already rinsed area. Everything has to be done at an angle, which is not the angle you wanted to use. But those sinks were basically 18" wide, so they were tiny.

But how small is small? I am moving to a 29" wide sink in a 30" wide cabinet. It is a single bowl and it feels like you could bathe two cooperative cats in it. It feels BIG.

Depends how small is "small" Hannah. ( love your name , have a granddaughter named Hannah.) I found a bowl that is 20" wide and 17 " front to back will handle almost all the normal pots and pans and cookie sheets out there.

Happy Easter!
