A bar or coffee station on a rolling cart would be a versatile choice. Alternatively, a large potted plant could also be effective; the choice would depend upon the lighting, as well as the match-up between the maintenance needs of the plant and your daughter's lifestyle (I'm envisioning something like a ficus tree or small palm). Disclaimer: I am not a pro.

Some art could complement either choice, as long as it is calculated to balance rather than dominate the space.

It depends of what she needs. Does she have enough storage space for cleaning supplies, or paper goods? etc? if so a storage closet from Ikea might be nice.

If she needs more counter space then a cart with a butcher block top and storage under would be nice.

It could double as a coffee/tea cart or extra counter space or as a buffet as needed. In small spaces furniture that does at least double duty is valuable.

My mom found a gate leg kitchen table for me at a garage sale for 10$ 25 years ago. I have used it in so many different configurations in every place I have been, right now with the leaves folded down it is a couch table in my living room.
