Perforated metal inserts cost

We have pantry doors that we want to install perforated metal inserts into. There are six panels. Each is just under 10" x just under 13". The bid came to over 800 dollars! They was carbon steel, not even stainless or any special metal. Does the price sound right? I'm flabbergasted.

If that’s the cost of removing the existing wood panels, custom cutting and installing the metal, and making that look good from the back side with some custom stained molding, then it’s a fair price. If that’s just a materials quote for you to DIY all of that, yes, that’s high.

Sounds very high. Can't rember prices right now But this is where I buy from in LA . Don't know where you're located but they have other locations.

snaggy...yes, I have googled. and the company I contacted is a major one often mentioned. I'm just wondering if they might have made an error.

jdesign...thanks I will check them out. if enough people have the reaction you do, that it seems high, then I will ask the sale man to refigure.

green designs and Patricia Colwell. yes this was just for the metal panels. our contractor quoted us separately for the labor involved.

If your object is the pie safe look, Home Depot has a variety of panels for about $20.00 or so each.

Anne Duke, yes Home Depot has M-D products. much thinner, but might work. we need to check it out.
