IMO you do not have the space for 12 x 24 tiles no matter how you lay them out they will hve too many 1/2 tiles to look good. Why not do some larger format glass tiles in a stacked pattern

brown vinyl plank is the way to go here. Have a look. See the canisters you have: you could find a subtle tonal brown with that shading in it.

Definitely bring samples home. Here's an example of how some of these shades work with your room. You will see how some of these shades are to be avoided.

I would go with greige instead gray, too mach yellow/beige in kitchen, would clash. Try on warm side gray/greige.

Grey won't work in that kitchen. It clashes too much with the warm counters.

I would find out why all of your tiles are cracked. Have you addressed the underlying problem?

Light large travertine would work with everything. I'd lay them straight not diamond.
