I recently purchased a monstera that appears to be three smaller plants that were potted together into a larger pot at the nursery. The plant is beautiful and full but I am concerned about it becoming too large and heavy as it continues to grow (currently in a 10" pot and needing repotting). I would like to separate one of the three main bunches of stems and turn it into two smaller plants but I am terrified of killing some or all of the plant, as I have never done a division before. The plant is super healthy and growing some gorgeous split leaves. As much as I want to divide this plant, I'd rather deal with a larger plant and prune/propagate as it continues to grow than kill it because I divided it. I'm just looking for advice on the best way to divide this plant and for opinions on if I should take the risk in the first place.
