How do you like Harlow Carr compared to your other Austins? I’m interested in this variety but unfortunately very little was discussed about it on Houzz.

zzone7b, it's my least favorite solely on the small flower size, approximately 1.5 inches, but it does have nice fragrance and loads of flowers at the same time so i'll keep it, until i need the space for another austin.....

I agree with you, Hoang. Harlow Carr has smaller flowers, but in my beds, I like the variety that different bloom sizes bring. What I do not like about Harlow Carr (mine was mature) thorns that could be a torture device! I refused to prune it...

I guess a better use of Harlow Carr may be ground cover rose (like Drift roses) or low hedges as they are so free flowering? Some drift rose bloom size is approx 1.5” - 2.5”.

I cut my Harlow Carr back hard and got tons of blooms. But yes it is very thorny, since the blooms are smallish and its a small bush i have it planted in a pot.
