1. Last year I put up a photo of a plant that had new growth that appeared to be a new plant erupting from the older foliage. Like a stop and start over again growth. You said something, I think, about these plants just kind of stopping growth when under some stress, then starting again. All of the Futuras that I got in the overgrown pots are going to do this, I believe. Many already are. The first plant that did this, well, it just made new plants on top of the older foliage. Some of these plants had formed roots at the base of the new stem.

Saw this in the office of Fellows Riverside Gardens. One of the best looking Gold Flames I ever saw. Wish mine grows this well.

I notice that most best looking sans I saw was growing in mostly peaty mix. Go figure.

I must definitely go with a medium more along these lines. It's what works best with my habits, my winter heat. The sans that I have kept in a slightly more aerated version if my old medium are doing better. Your trip to Riverside sounds most enjoyable. That is a very pretty plant.

I think I forgot to mention, Riverside Gardens is totally free to the public. The best botanical gardens I ever visited. Beats ours in Pittsburgh.

Free is fantastic. I lived near the Botanical Garden in St. Louis. It was free for residents. I'd have to get a membership, now. To be able to travel and to visit a garden for free would be just wonderful. To stay for a couple of days and have your lunches there! Your photo makes me want a bunch of baby Gold Flame.
