Just curious, you've referred to daffidols before. Is that a local variant in your area? I've not come across the word anywhere else.

I have plenty of plant stakes so off I went, planning to just give them a assist. Half of the ones that floppers were loss leaders on staking. Snapped/bent necks .

Going to read past threads on Tahiti and see if stem strength is a issue.....+rain/wet heads. Could be just weak stems on daughter bulbs with the weak stems - aka, I did one planting with 8, and had like 12-14 blooms in that one round.

Double flowered narcissus of any type just do not hold up to rainfall well. Like peonies and other heavily doubled flowers, they catch and hold the water and the weight bends them over. If the rainfall is hard enough it can bend the stems. Kind of the nature of the beast.

At least the petals all remained unlike peonies. I guess I will have to do the sigh like I do with peonies and say, well, it was pretty before it rained.

I coulda, wouldva, remember fellow GW praising Tahiti for it's stem stoutness though
