We have landed ourselves in an interesting situation. We purchased a home a while back and started remodeling from the get go. We are finally getting ready to move into the house, but have run into a problem. One of the things we loved about the home was the existing oak cabinets. They were lovely and we decided to reconfigure them and reuse them in our new kitchen. However, due to some miscommunication with the contractor, we have found out that the cabinets are not as reconfigurable as we originally imagined. Long story short, the front of the cabinets don't line up (center to center) with the cooktop and sink. They are off by 3 to 4 inches. The cooktop itself lines up with the range hood and the sink lines up with the window in front of it. But as you can see in the picture the cabinet is off to the left.

At this point we have invested a lot of time/money/effort into the cabinets but we are not sure if this is something we can live with. Any advice is greatly appreciated
