My wife and I are getting a new leather sofa made and can't decide on either a 28" or 31" seat depth. Of course there will be the back cushions behind us which will take up some of that space. We have sat in both and still not sure which one. The 31" is more of a lounging feel where the 28" is not as much. However siting up straight in the 28" is better than the 31". As we are in an apartment we do not have a living and family room so if we have guest over we would also use this sofa and some chairs. Now again this is in regards to seat depth the full depth of sofa will be either 40" or 43". What do you guys prefer and or suggest the 28" or 31" seat depth?
