I have similar doors. People outside cannot really see anything in the house due to the distortion of the glass. This is especially true during the day when the interior lights are not on. At night, vague shadows are visible to the outside, but unless someone actually comes to the door and peers in (think peeping Tom), I still have my privacy.

I think one roll is more than enough for both windows. This is available at the big box stores also.

Are you saying that people can see through those small leaded glass panels to the back of your house? I can't see how that is possible since that glass looks pretty opaque. But if you think it is, then you might consider solid wood doors and use interior hall lighting to illuminate (which is what I have and I hate it!).

I have used the non-adhesive films before, and they work great. If you ever decide to remove it, it’s easy to do.

I have no idea how anyone can see through that glass so IMO leave the door alone.

What "picture windows" are you talking about?

I expected to see a door with more than 50% glass when I read your title and intro blurb!!
I doubt anyone is THAT interested in your goings on that they would stand at the door and squint through the tiny sections of glass that aren’t distorted!
Are you on a busy pedestrian street? Or a high density condo community? Is there a reason we aren’t understanding why people will be by your door?

I used to have a metal core front door in my first house and used magnetic curtain rods and grommet topped curtains. Made it easy to remove and put back whenever I felt like it.

I believe you and the fix is easy and cheap.

I had an in-law tip-toeing to look in an supposedly out of reach clear section at the top of our old door, to see if we were home. Creeped me out. My new door has opaque rain glass. It bothers you, fix it.

thanks for all the advice! I will be looking InInto getting opaque rain glass or a film! believe it or not, we have some very insistent surveyors or people selling stuff, and knocking and peering. creeps me outout, especially at night! thanks !

Oh my gosh that is a NIGHTMARE!! Utterly TERRIFYING! There's no saving it. Burn the house down and start over. Don't put windows in the new build.
