Yes, it works. My father used it for years on their shower doors to minimize the water spotting.

I didn’t think about the glass. We have a coating on our shower enclosure (can’t remember the name), so I haven’t applied anything to the shower glass.

I think I’ll call my glass installer about that.

But what about the chrome fixtures? That’s what my friend was talking about; that the Ferguson’s person told her to spritz an little RainX on a cloth and just apply a thin layer after her normal weekly cleaning of the bathroom.

Rain-X does make a cleaner and water-repellant specifically for glass shower doors and it states to use only on glass. So on any Rain-X product that you're thinking about using on fixtures, be sure to check the label.

I've used their shower glass system and it works really well, though we do also squeegee. I applied it in late August (before moving into the house) and only in March did water spots start becoming noticeable. We did put in a water softener, but due to a programming issue, it wasn't softening correctly for most of those months.

Rainex is magic!! I have a solution in the windshield washers on my car....have for several years....haven't noticed any problems with the finish of the chrome around the windshield or anything else.

Rain-X rocks. A little tedious on application - but sooooooo much easier on the glass cleaning. (and for your car windshields too - MAGIC!)
