Leaves feed plants via chlorophyll, more leaves = more ability to grow and flower. If any of yours have a poor flower production this year it won't be because they had plenty of leaves.

I agree, but maybe I just love seeing that lush green growth. I have never noticed a decreased flower production with more foliage. I know they say that as far as fruit/veggie plants, but I assumed that was because of nitrogen content in the soil. I suppose that might affect daylilies too? A soil test might make you feel better.

I agree! Lush, green growth now means more buds and flowers during the season.
