Drainage or Sewege Smell
I would be grateful for some advice on how to approach finding a solution to our terrible problem.
In June we moved back in our house after an extention to the kitchen was built and we had a new kitchen and 1st floor bathroom was completely re doneand the entire house was completely renovated and new radiators put in and replumbed completely with new megaflo etc. The drain had to be extended out and some work was done on the external drains. A bathroom on ground floor had been added about 10 years ago and a man hole covers the drain from that bathroom. The man hole is in a cupboard on the kitchen and well sealed.Since around October we have had sewage smells coming from behind the kitchen cupboard. We heard some scratching sounds from behind the wall of that cupboard - and we're hoping that the mice would die as there is no way of their entry. They probably got in during the building works. Then we had the first disaster - in December the central heating stopped and we called the plumber who said there is a leak in the system. Investigation revealed that the mice had eaten the water pipe behind the cupboard. Water pipe was repaired. We don't hear the mice anymore but the intermitent sewage smell is worst. We have had Homeserve come in check the external drains with a camera. The plumber but in a washing machine stand pipe but the smell is still there. Can you suggest something please.
Thanks & Regards
