You bed to bring in some plants and flowers for the coffee table

you need to bring in some plants

Your warm flooring and stairwell may not play well with Ice Cold.

Do you have a question? I can't find a SW color Ice Cold.

So are the pics before and after?

Should I add a circular rug instead. I painted it shuts because the room is small and wanted it to look like more more space.

The coffee table needs to go Lower your art cahnge the coffee table to a smaller round one

I think you are fine with the square rug, it's very pretty. You haven't asked any questions for us to answer.

You have done a lovely job in transforming this room into a cozy, inviting space. I wouldn't change a thing, except to perhaps lower the art on the wall just a bit.

Ok.. it feels cramped. In finishing my stair banister I can paint white or darker stain?

It LOOKS cramped. Give us four photos, one from each direction, if you want help with the space. As it is, we can't even tell what the room is used for. Is there a TV here?

I agree the coffee table needs to go. It's too big and too shiny for this tiny space.

    This is it.

So, you're going for a glam look. Lower the art to 5" above the sofa. The coffee table may be a speck to big and high for the sofa and room. I would switch it for a transparent one; perhaps lucite or chrome and glass.

I have no idea what I'm looking at in the second photo above. What's on the wall opposite the artwork? Where is the front door?

Coffee table doesn't work...too tall and big.

Your furniture is quite on the gray side, and the rug looks more brown. Is that just a photo illusion? Personally I would change the rug with one with some real color even if it were muted, but definitely not the one that is there unless the photo is WAY off. I agree about the coffee table being too big, How about 2 small square or round tables so it is easier to move in the space. What goes under the picture as it is hung really high? Like the sofa a lot.

You need to show all of each wall so that we can get some idea of the space. We have no idea of the doors, windows, where people will need to walk., where the corners are, etc. from these few photos. I'm trying to figure out if you have room for a long open sofa table on the radiator wall and how long it could be.

Attempted this today. Hope it’s better assessment. The previous owner divides the living room which is small, with pillars a den area. I don’t want to move walls..

    More pics.

Looks great. I would still get rid of the coffee table. Just doesn't look right. Would go for something round and wood to tie in with the wood of the banister and floors.

It is a difficult room and you have beautiful things. Have you tried the sofa angled in the corner the stair wall facing into the room? Then the two chairs in an “L” near the radiator, facing the sofa. It might feel bigger, but traffic would have to cut through.

What is in the other room? Is it bigger?

That was my initial setup ( my husband like) but I hate the passing through of the kids running around.. felt uncomfortable to me and not connected/tied in. It was not centered enough...

Yes, the table! I am just struggling with getting rid of it (expensive piece) and where else would I put it... ughh. The small things in life.
Ohh and the other room I used as a foyer/sitting area since it connects to the kitchen and family room. But smaller...
This is the last pic I have of the room... to give an idea of the space that divides the living room.

Thanks for the extra pics. That gives a much better sense of the space.

Your furniture is beautiful, but I would scooch the chairs as close to the sofa as possible without making it claustrophobic, to give as much walk space around as possible. Perhaps the bar cart can go under the window next to the front door.

That coffee table is wayyyyyyy too large. You might get a decent price at a consignment store, but it really throws the room off.

On the wall opposite the sofa, I'd hang one huge piece of art. The art you have there now is hung way too high.

(Not a fan of the bright turquoise in the other room.)

I'd lose the floor mirror in the corner. It actually makes the room smaller. A table like this glass and brass one from West Elm would go well in here. It's light on visual weight.

Ok. There should I put the mirror?

Should I hang the mirror on the wall ?

Agreed, save the mirror for your bedroom. The pic you posted looks good with a painting there and I like the coffee table that looks like you have photoshopped in.
