This is actually an excellent choice for growing in containers as it is very compact, being one of the Evison-Poulsen Flora collection vines. Doesn't even require a support as the plant is naturally mounding and seldom exceeds 12" in height. Good for hanging baskets!!

I would think overwintering the pot in the garage would work just fne.

Thanks! When I have the hostas in the garage, I occasionally give them a tiny bit of water or place a few ice cubes on the media to melt and give some moisture... should I do that with the clems, or just let them remain dry all winter?

Just enough water to keep the soil barely moist. Typically in an unheated location, water evaporation from soil over winter/cold temps is so slight as to make any watering unnecessary. YMMV
