Lavandula Hidcote - which clematis ?

Hi there, I want to have a bed with lavender and pink/red clematis (group 3). And I'm a novice gardener. Which clematis would go well with my dark blue lavender in terms of color and growing conditions? Thanks for any input!

I know you asked about apink/red group three, but I’m hooked on Huldine and Betty Corning, I hope you get pink suggestions from someone. This Huldine and Betty Corning is it’s first full season here, had a lengthy bloom for both, Betty was longer..

Clematis wants a ton more water than Lavender.....you will rot out your Lavender if you plant too close together.

After reading the above comment and not knowing what growing zone you are in, I have an additional comment. I grow Sweet Autumn clematis here with NO additional watering, don’t know if that would be a possibility for you.

Are you looking for a climbing clematis or a sprawling ground cover? Saphire indigo is a good shade tolerant ground cover for me, but I have it with roses who like rich moist soil and lavender needs sandy quick drying soil and lots of heat and direct sun. When I grew lavender with roses in partial shade it died.
