Help! What should I put in this Corner between the couches in my living room? I can’t find a side table that matches the coffee table or does it not have to match? A lamp? A tree? Help!

@connie the couches are the same size! I was thinking a tall plant but that corner doesn’t get any sunlight really stays shaded the whole day so I’m not sure what plant would work. I was thinking a black floor lamp as well!

Would you consider an arc lamp

Which brand is your coffee table? A close up of the table and measurements of the space between the two sofas would be helpful. Also I would move the sofa on the right just a spec away from the other sofa. Too bad you bought a rectangle rather than a square or a round to better service both sofas. Are you able to take it back?

A table with a lamp would be perfect...adding light to that corner and a place to put down a drink or a book or whatever....also consider another table and lamp for the other side of the sofa further away from your dining table. The overall light in the room would improve if you changed your colored shades for white ones.

I'd put a large enough round table and a lamp and stuff...just less stuff than is used here

I assume the sofa against the wall faces your room's focal point, so the coffee table needs to be 18" or less from that sofa. If the arms of your two sofas touched, would there be an overlap rather than a simple butt? I think maybe so, but it could be the camera angle. I would center the sofa on the windows and move the other one slightly toward the dining area. The wall sofa will have the coffee table and you can get a pair of "C" tables for the two ends of the window sofa. Add a non-traditional arc lamp in the corner to hover above the coffee table.

Your tables don't have to match. I'd look for a black wood end table to echo the dining table and put a table lamp on it.

If you don’t need a place to set a coffee mug/ book/etc on a side table there, I’d do a floor lamp. If you’d like a place to set a drink or something while sitting there, I’d go for a complimentary table with a table lamp. Agreed with others, it does not need to match the coffee table, in fact - I personally find I like rooms that aren’t perfectly matched the best!! Something black/wood that compliments the coffee table would be perfect! (In my phone so I can’t see it now- but someone posted a table that doesn’t have the four legs- it kind of hangs off one side - I LOVE that one for your space!!)

A large colorful ceramic base with large bamboos in it would add live to the room and fill the space. You may need a large rectangular modern canvas paint behind the sofa. That wall looks empty. I could help you with that. I paint custom canvases on a budget. if you want you could check some of my abstract paintings at MarStreinesberger.com
