Does it have aromatic foliage when bruised? Looks like Oregano to me.

The groundcover is a Lamium maculatum cultivar.

It does look like an oregano plant and I thought that initially, but I really don’t smell anything when I bruise the leaves. Plus, I’ve never grown oregano in that garden. Yes, Lamium!! I purchased several varieties of Lamium years ago and planted in my gardens because it doesn’t take over and is not as invasive as some other ground covers.

Oregano does seed around. Do the neighbours have any?

One neighbor i know of has a veggie garden, but not sure what she plants. I had a small herb and tomato garden about ten years ago and had planted oregano. What is so interesting is that this garden was never a vegetable garden! Oh, well, i plan to enjoy this volunteer!
