There is no way anyone can help you without more info. The chair style should match the style of your home, whether modern, traditional, farmhouse, etc. Start to narrow down options based on that. Next is how you will utilize the chairs. Post photos of your house and pool area.

Thank you. Yes, I'm leaning toward sling. They dry faster or could be toweled down after a rain shower, unlike something padded. As far as style, just looking for something pretty traditional but elegant. I think I'm going with a graphite color base, and trying to decide if I want a neutral color sling fabric like gray or brown or something bright like navy blue. Thoughts? Sling fabrics are also available in patterns. We are looking at the Tropitone Kai series.

The padded chairs and chases are filled with fiber that squirrels love to use to build their nests. I have personally had slings that have lasted for more than 10 years. I love Brown Jordan, they are really well made and honestly can last a lifetime. I would also look at the fiber content of the sling to make sure that it's all vinyl. Also a light color will hold up longer than a dark due to the heat absorption.

@Smith & Ragsdale Interior Design I really appreciated your suggestions and am looking at a light colored chaise that we found from Tropitone. It's pricey, but looks well made. The material of the sling says that it is 100% Vinyl Coated Polyester Does that sound good or should it be 100% Vinyl?

If you want to lay in the chair for long periods of time, there is nothing like the thick pads! I love modern, but also want REALLY inviting chairs to sit in, so will give up the look a little and just get with cushions. Yes, sling easy to hose down and dries fast. The latest is the built in pads- that is the latest look by far. Brown Jordan expensive but if you can do it and would love them- go for it. Otherwise, Costco has tons. I also am insisting on having arm rests for comfort! No wicker- too many spider webs and spiders!! Best of luck. Oh I would avoid curve and circular arm rests and design and go for more contemporary clean straighter lines for a crisp non dated look. Take some pictures when you're done!

If you're buying either Tropitone or Brown Jordan, any fabric they have will be fine. That being said, is your pool chlorine? I think that might void any warranty on the fabric. (I'm not familiar enough with bromine to know if it would be safer on fabric.)
