The dark leather says "lay down and tell me about your childhood". I'd say the other one if it matches the bed set. It pops more to me.

I like the second one (looks orange?). If I were to curl up with my iPad it just looks more comfortable to prop up on one elbow in than the black one,

hey lefty, thanx so much for the advice. that is from my old place, and some of them i place on, but not all, I was just experimenting and taking pics, still getting my room pics together. Also, based on the space I have, I want something that will go "against the wall" and not come out into the room like an ottoman, with a king size bed, it just doesn't work in that room, if I had like an additional ten feet of space it would be awesome. my camera is not the best, and it's really not as much as it looks like in the pic, but now my room is significantly larger than my old room shown in the photo [20 x 12 vs 12 x 12] so that makes a huge difference as well. and while i never sat on the white one, I have sat on the brown one, and it is extremely comfortable, realistically it's ottomans I don't like, even if I had the room, they are just so bulky and don't blend well to me.

Susan, I thought the same thing, and I sat on it, and it was way more comfortable than I anticipated, but you're right, it does look a bit "single guy" and thanx re: furniture. I really try hard, and I mostly do things eco-friendly [and pocket friendly], I repurpose a lot of things, do A LOT of shopping on craigslist, and most of my art are framed salvaged materials.

I am a big fan of "fainting couches" and find them extremely comfortable. But I prefer the lighter one with the one arm as I sometimes like to prop an arm up while reading. I also prefer the lighter color for a bedroom. Have fun with it!

feeny, I love them too, never had one, and ran across the brown one at goodwill, I was shocked to say the least, it was gorgeous, and found the other online. I am leaning toward the cream one too, and feel much better seeing all the "experts" on houzz agree!

Susana, that is very nice. I'm not much of a "risk taker", but these r really nice. most of my art is very basic, nice ornate frame, and I absolutely love salvaged iron with nice ornate scroll designs.

Ooh, HomeDecorAddict, you have just changed my mind, at least in part. While I still feel the lighter one has a shape that I would find more comfortable for reading and a color and style that I would find more appealing in your bedroom, the fact that the leather one is vintage totally increases the "cool" factor. I would buy it and put it in an office, living room, or family room in a minute, or in a bedroom with a very masculine, slightly industrial decor (like everything they are showing at Restoration Hardware these days). So while I'm still not convinced it is quite right for your bedroom (based on your photo), I desperately want you to run to Goodwill and buy it for another purpose (which I know is probably impractical and no help at all in your dilemma, but that's what I'd do if I found that piece).

haha, I love vintage items as well. I love repurposing, saving things from landfills, and making my home beautiful!! I RARELY go to goodwill and went in on an impulse, and was pleasantly surprised.
