Very nice, I just planted two of these last year. One is up but not flowering yet, the other is emerging very slowly (hope it's ok, they're supposed to be bulletproof).

They have been great here. Since mine are at the base of a limbed up 40 yo blue spruce I do need to water during dry spells, other than that, no problems.

They throw themselves on the driveway,

or at least on the dry-laid patio. They are one of my more common volunteers.

those look great. I want to add these but haven’t for some reason. You may have inspired some weekend purchases.

I have a few that are not very sizable yet, due to being mowed down by rabbits in previous years. I’d say they must be bulletproof after the abuse they’ve taken here.

Do they spread as an expanding clump, or by reaching out underground?

Mine haven’t been driveway tested yet ; ) in my mind too expensive to try.
