is it a single plant .. if so.. you may lose the variegation you like.. if it is many.. you might find.. later in the season ... that you can separate off the weirdo ... and maintain the original ... 2 for 1 ...

so you are saying this is abnormal and won't go back to what it was last year? The newer leaves have even less of the dark green in the center. I don't mind that it is different but if it is going to stay this way then I guess I will look for another Earth Angel and pull the name off of this one. It makes a bright spot in the garden.

Last year I divided out a couple of shoots out of an 'Earth Angel' that were solid light colour and it withered away over the season, not enough chlorophyll I suspect. I found another shoot like it on another specimen and left it attached and this year this plant has come back up without any solid light coloured shoots, back to normal so to speak. In my experience this form of sport is not viable. I'd be inclined to leave the plant the way it is and wait for more shoots to develop this year and keep my fingers crossed those will be as you'd expect from this variety.

I would never get rid of her, maybe move her and wait to see what happens. I saw a huge beautiful specimen planting of Earth Angel last summer and I wanted one like it.

I'd leave it be. It could very well be normal next year. Not an Earth Angel but THIS Striptease went back to normal the next year.

I saw the beauty in Blowing Rock NC and the hostas there are stupendous. The sidewalks are crowded with people going from store to store buying expensive STUFF and I am walking around drooling over the hosta. I'm not much of a shopper of anything but plants. Today we went to the jockey lot and I came home with a suv full of plants and just picked strawberries. My husband said, "Happy Mother's Day". It was the best. I didn't buy any hosta and there was a bunch--terrified of hosta virus.
