What color are the walls? What's your budget for bedding and accessories? What style are you going for?

Is it a nursery, a gym, or a master bedroom? Choose one. Congrats on the newborn, but hopefully she will be in her own space soon. Lose the bike. This is your restful space and everywhere you look it needs to be restful. Clothes storage, a nice comfy bed, maybe a reading chair for when the little one is restless. But this is your space where you rest and relax.

The main thing you need is a headboard or frame plus headboard. If you want wood, look at consignment shops or local listings where you can get great deals. Or you can get a new upholstered headboard fairly inexpensively. Lots of options depending on the style you want. Raise your TV a couple inches and place the tall dresser under it against the wall. Add a horizontal framed mirror over your longer dresser across from the windows. I would do all of that before anything else. I like your wall color.

Go to fb or Nextdoor and get a headboard and footboard - they practically give that stuff away. Side tables too. And you need curtains.

First, lose the exercise bike. Then:

1. Upholstered headboard

2. New sconces. These are too small for the space. I might even lower them so they flank the headboard and you can get swing arm reading lamps instead.

3. Small nightstands on either side

4. An area rug

So the walls are Benjamin Moore guilford green. My Peloton bike stays. When we got it we purposely put it in the bedroom so we would use it. I’d like to spend 200 to $500 on the bedding or less of course.

I read good things about Pottery Barn and Garnet Hill bedding.

As ShadyWillowFarm said, NextDoor is a great site to get a very inexpensive headboard. People move or downsize and need to sell furniture all the time. You can find one to match your darker woods very easily. A white quilt can be nice for all seasons - use it alone in the summer or with extra blankets underneath in the winter. Then find patterned sheets that you like incorporating the green from the walls.

I would use white bedding and accent with a throw and patterned pillows. This PB organic bedding is very pretty and reasonably priced.

Get a BED - which includes the headboard and frame - upholstered. Wayfair has many types and they are generally inexpensive - plus they will deliver to your front door. Next get a light quilt and a duvet cover with a down filled comforter - which covers both summer and winter. I keep the duvet folded at the end of the bed and it can be pulled up if its cold. Overstock has beautiful velvet coverlets in solid colors. I would keep the headboard and coverlet solid and then get a duvet that is patterned. By doing this you can change out the duvet cover much easier. Here is a guest bedroom I did this way. (Actually all my bedrooms are done this way but I live up north) The headboard and coverlet are from overstock, while the duvet cover is from William Sonoma.

So update! I’m getting these night stands and dresser and chair. I will take out my current night stand and dressers. So more he’ll now with placement of all and an appropriate comforter pls! What do you all think? They are mint condition and I’m getting them from my friends’ parents who are downsizing and I’m also adding this rug! Thanks!

Yes this is the chair with a matching ottoman foot rest not pictures. The rug seems to be cream, tan and a greenish.

Which head board do you like best with these night stands and dresser?

These are the coverlets I have in two bedrooms, they are great and look luxurious Also from Overstock!

When you have the rug down it will minimize the wood in the room. I would look for a used, sturdy solid wood bed instead of buying cheap mdf that won't last. Or just get a linen upholstered headboard to use with your metal frame.

Out of all of them, I like the 1st or 3rd that I posted. IMO, a fully upholstered bed looks more finished than just a headboard. I think the 1st nicely mimics the curves in the nightstands and dresser and feels a bit more traditional, as does the furniture. Do you know how tall the nightstands are? They should come within an inch or two of the height of the mattress.

Not sure those duvets go with the rug?

Wait until you get the rug into your room so you can post a close up pic of the colors in your lighting. I'd keep it very neutral with the duvet and add color in throws and pillows.

You need a headboard - either wood, rattan, or linen upholstered. I would put a large framed mirror over the dresser to reflect the light and view from the windows. If it doesn't block that doorway, I would turn your exercise bike the opposite direction and slide it under your tv. That way your chair isn't as crowded.

You need a headboard.

I would replace those much too high up sconces on the wall, something that faces down possibly on an actuating arm so the can be lowered a bit. If nothing else I would at the very least turn them to face down and actually give you some light!
