Isn't that zoysia?

I though perhaps it was zoysia, but its growth pattern doesn’t match. I did find an article which defines it as centipede grass vs St Augustine grass.

amitandanj - any success identifying what it was? I too live in So. Cal and have something similar invading my fescue lawn.

For future reference to others looking for the same, I determined what was in my photo link above was Kikuyu grass. Looks identical to what the OP had shown in the first post of this thread.

For positive identification of Kikuyu, if you see thin white threads that look like single strands of spiders web, these are the seed stalks. At the end of the stalk is a seed about the size of a pin head.

I hit it with some "Image All In One Weed Killer" this weekend - already seeing some yellow and brown. Hopeful to control it this way, otherwise I'll resort to Turflon Ester which is also supposed to be effective.
