I’ve got no idea where to get started with planting our front yard. The front faces north/north-east so it is all shade near the house. We are located in NJ which is Zone 7. I want to tear everything out and start new; this pachysandra in front of the garage has to go. It attracts ground bees and every year there is more and more grass growing through it. I saw flats of it at Home Depot for $15 but you couldn’t pay me to plant that stuff.

Down the road, probably 5-7 years, we’d like to extend the front porch across the house, add a peak over the garage, and dormers on the roof to add some interest to the house. I want to keep plantings to shrubs, grasses, and flowers.
