Pear disease identification

Hello All,

My pear trees have lots of fruit set and leaves look healthy but for every bunch I see at least 1 or 2 fruit have this deformation/infection. Please help identify what it is and how can I help the tree this year or next (if its too late). Thanks in advance. Attached are a couple of photos.

Looks like one of the Gymnosporangium rusts, most likely cedar-quince rust, as that has the broadest host range.

Too late to treat for this season but this link may be helfpful.

When I get them on my pears I snip them off and toss them in the trash - do not compost them. I have native Juniper trees in the woods surrounding the garden and I can see rust disease on all of them. The wild Hawthorne in the woods also get rust disease from the junipers. It never seems to kill anything and some years the damage is minimal.
