Hey Houzzers - I recently spruced up my basement by cleaning the carpet. I have tenants use that space pretty frequently, so I noticed it was getting a bit dirty as people wear their shoes inside. I referenced Family Handyman's blog and Hux's blog for tips. They recommend sticking to annual or maybe bi-annual cleanings of permanent carpets. You'd really be surprised how much better these things look after a good cleaning.
