Beautiful Tiddisolo! I have also learned that taking closeup photos of hostas gives you yet another view that wasn't noticed before.

that's a gorgeous hosta..what you're saying reminds me of the expression to "stop and smell the roses" or to put it another way "stop and see the hostas"..

Been there ... done that too . I have about the same amount as you do and tags have gone missing and I am to the point now that I think .. Do I have that one and where is is now? I like the time to smell the flower quote . I haven't bought one in probably three years and when I do LOOK , I slap myself across the cheek and say NO lol Such beauties will all have to be enjoyed with everyone pictures and enthusiasm . Fun when we were in that zone thought !

Beautiful Moonstruck! And good reminder to appreciate their beauty. Over 700, and most or all are in pots? I don't know how you manage that many. Can't wait to see more of your collection this year.

My Moonstruck was one of the first to leaf out this year. But the colors aren't nearly as distinct as yours. I'll try to post a photo tomorrow. It's cold and rainy right now which should make for great photos tomorrow.

I do remember now that you have an Empress Wu planted in the ground, and I think some others along the house, if I recall correctly, but aren't most of yours in pots, Dave?

Yes the collection is in pots and I do have duplicates and seedlings planted in the ground around the place. I plan on getting more in the ground but it will be only duplicates and seedlings.

The climate here is ideal for pot growing as we rarely have to contend with sub zero temperatures in winter or high temperatures and long dry spells in summer. It also allows me to move and display them to best advantage without backbreaking digging.

Moonstruck is one that is talking to me at a local nursery. Autumn Moon talked louder this week reminding me how he greeted me at my last house with a sunny hello when I came home. I moved last Thanksgiving so this spring has been exciting. I moved some hostas but some didn't make it. I am struggling with some ids because there were some hostas here. I love this house, it has some woods and a stream. Lots of hosta potential!

That middle green chartreuse coloring is spectacular!
