OMG where in heck do you live Alaska . Even in Canada we don;t get this although I do recall many years ago when we lived in Fort St John BC ( mile 49 on the Alaska hwy) It snowed on the 24th of may and also on my birthday in August but not certain they get that bad weather any longer Brr hope your hosta make it through/ Crazy huh!

I would be interested to see how they look after this, and how they recover once summer arrives... for future reference. We occasionally get crazy weather here too, and sometimes it’s just not possible to protect them.

Thankfully even if they do turn to mush they will recover, some much faster than others. I wish I were not speaking from experience.

Ouch, all I can say is June is around the corner. I hope your hosta plants recover quickly.

Heavy and wet then freezing, yikes!

It's still cold and rainy today. Friday it is supposed to finally get to be 70. I'll post an updated photo then. I haven't had the courage to look.

I went out and looked today and the big blue one looks pretty good. Others have suffered. Stained Glass and Guacamole did not appreciate this at all! But the others look mostly, remarkably fine.

another reason to love blues!..am I right aren't the leaves thicker?..more slug resistant?..maybe they're less sensitive to cold?..I just love the color..the other perks are a bonus..

Popmama, ugh, snow again! Looks like your damage was pretty minimal. We had the same weather here in April, had to cover my Montana, everything else had to fend for itself, minimal damage here too. Let’s hope that’s it til next December or so!
