Systemics are never, ever to be used on fruit or vegetable plants when bearing. That toxin is taken into the plant and translocated throughout, including to the edible portions. If that were my plant I would toss it in the trash.

@rhizo_1 Yes, I did read the label and it makes absolutely no mention not to apply when bearing. You are making assumptions on the systemic I'm using, which I haven't even identified in my post.

Having said this, it does say that you must not eat the fruit many days after application. I fully plan to honor that.
