You do not have to remove the fruit off the tree. The tree will probably abort the fruit on it's own during what is considered June drop which is normal. I have older trees than yours and a lot of fruit has dropped. Most trees on the retail market are at least 2 years old and still a bit juvenile to produce fruit. You may get lucky and get at least 1 if you don't stress it by the lack of water. Your tree is going through the bloom cycle so until that is over, you may not get new leaves.

I always break off flowers and fruit on my new/small trees so they can put energy into growing taller and growing roots. Your tree looks healthy.

Since you've had it a little over a month and obviously repotted it, it is probably working "underground" on growing roots. Also many trees will curl leaves like that in bright sun (and when hot) to minimize moisture loss from their leaves. Not sure where you are located but the stucco wall between properties and the rolling fan out on the patio seems to suggest you are somewhere out west or southwest.

Denise, good research and thanks for that! I use to put mine on my hot flat roof, but no longer do because of that. They do better without that roots over heating.

That is a good looking tree by the way. Make sure the mix you are using allows for good drainage and free air movement)

I had to relocate my potted satsumas to a side alley that gets morning/early afternoon light only. They are not fond of the 2PM blast.....

Many of my trees have dropped their fruit due to immaturity and the dang heat wave we have had. To remove blossoms and fruit really isn't necessary as the odds against you anyways.
