From what I can tell pics only look distorted on the phone but when you click them they go to full size and look fine. On a computer they look fine from the start. And yours look great, nice job.

Thank you everyone! Maybe it’s cause I’m on my phone but even when I clicked on them they still looked weird.

Oh, well. I just know how much I enjoy seeing other people’s pictures and wanted to return the favor.

Now that it’s nice out my favorite way to start the day is in the garden with my caffeine, the animals and my phone so I can see all the new pictures and comments. It’s so peaceful and heart warming to watch everyone’s gardens come to life.

And the enabling....it’s the best! No guilt ever :)

I like the irises and are those clematis I see?

Esther, Bourbon and Innocent Blush. I really, really like InnocentBlush. To me it has kind of an old fashioned vintage look to it.

Bourbon is new. It was half off at the end of the season last year so I thought I would try it. I was a bit worried it would be red but it’s a nice rich, deep pink. I think I’m gonna like it just fine.

nw, sorry I meant to reply earlier but got distracted! Yes, I love Krossa!!! I really favor the big, upright vase shapes right now. I also have Tenryu which isn’t new and exciting but every time I saw it on the alphabet it caught my eye so I had to have it too!

nw Nigrescens is on my list also-so many hostas, so little dollars :)

The peony is Coral Sunset and Krinkled White is on my list as well but the roses stole my budget this year...

Oursteelers, your garden is truly lovely. I really am enjoying each and every photo. It’s so interesting to me, seeing what’s blooming in your garden before the roses. The Aquilegias look wonderful. I find that some of the yellow varieties have a very extended bloom time. I have a particular fondness for Aquilegias. It’s also neat to see what you are able to plant “more out in the open”. In my garden, many of those plants must be planted in true shade. It looks like you’re going to have a fabulous foxglove show coming very soon. I’d love to see them in full bloom. It boggles my native So CA mind to see bearded German iris blooming in the same light exposure as the Digitalis! My foxgloves would positively burn to a crisp, planted where I have the irises. What kind of hardy geraniums are you growing (if that’s what they are.)? I take it the one blooming behind the 3 in front is a different kind, or does it just get more sun? The 3 in front remind me of ‘Orion’ in its mounded shape.

Everything looks great, and that’s without roses in bloom. I can just imagine how nice it will be when your roses bloom! The early perennial plants are putting on a wonderful show on their own. I love your clematis and peony. That ‘Innocent Blush’ clematis is drop-dead gorgeous, but Roo steals the show. He looks like a real sweetheart!

Lisa, to answer your question before I forget in that bed I have Birch’s Double, Rozanne and Johnson’s Blue. In other areas I have the florescent pink, the hot pink, pale pink, Elle, Perfect Storm (which hasn’t bloomed, fingers crossed it decides to honor me this year) and HavanaBlues.

Thanks for all your nice comments everyone but it’s so hard to get a good “big” picture. I do ok with the up close and can usually get the colors right but as soon as I start to back up to include more, it tends to all just run together.

Particularly on this forum, people ARE excellent photographers :)

Wow, your iris is beautiful, gorgeous photos of peonies, iris and other flowers...

I love to see peonies in bloom in June around the neighborhood. Iris are nice as well. I have a few iris, also in the blue/purple color range.

Thank you oursteelers! What an interesting garden, and so well kept! My eye was particularly drawn to the chair at the edge of the grass circle. It looks very inviting. I can imagine you sitting there with Roo lying beside you.

Oursteelers your garden looks lovely and so organized and super clean. Love all the hostas, they are such an amazing group of plants. I really love the walkway and the entire set up of your garden. Those very purple irises look amazing. I think it is awesome your garden looks so full of life even before the roses are ready to bloom. Don’t apologize for not having roses yet because having a beautiful garden even before the roses bloom is just amazing (taking notes here).

Tina, I love to see the whole beds too! What a peaceful beautiful garden you have. And if it makes sense I’m glad for you not quite having roses .. so we can enjoy the other plants and the anticipation... because for so many spring is over already!! I love your clematis. They are gorgeous!!
