That is correct, the table top is MDF with a lacquer finish.

These clean very well with standard cleaning materials (like Windex for instance) and should not stain as long as spills are wiped up in a timely fashion.

Additionally, we'd advise to not place hot items directly on the furniture surface and to avoid harsh cleaners.
