So much hand-washing

Yesterday I applied for TSA Precheck for five years. When it was time for fingerprinting, it was on a glass-topped device that reads your prints. My thumbs went fine. Then it was time for the four fingers of each hand. The guy asks me, "Do you wash your hands 10 or more times a day?" The answer was yes. He explained that when people wash their hands that much their prints become hard to read. He had to press down on my fingers with his hand for an adequate reading. The rest of the interview went quickly.

I am not a germaphobe or feel I wash my hands to excess. Post restroom, plus whenever I prep food or eat, or my hands are sticky, funky for any reason. I had no idea it impacted my prints. I ought to go on a crime spree.
