Help selecting a hoya to grow indoors

last modified: 7 years ago

Hi!

I'd appreciate your advice. I'm looking for a hoya to grow indoors on a low wall between 2 south-facing glass doors. We live in a 9b zone in Los Angeles. The room receives dappled light because of all the trees in our yard and morning fog. Indoor humidity averages around 60%. I'd like to grow it in a circle on a trellis. I'm seeking a hoya that is easy to grow in my home conditions, affordable, and easy to find.

I grow hoya carnosa and hoya krohniana outside. I've only had them a few months, but they appear to be thriving.

Here is a list of some candidates I found:

  1. hoya australis
  2. hoya australis tenuipes
  3. hoya australis 'lisa' (Pricey. Must be ideally suited to consider.)
  4. hoya incrassata
  5. hoya memoria
  6. hoya publicalyx 'red buttons'
  7. hoya publicalyx 'bright one'

I hope you'll weigh in.
