I recommend pubicalyx "Red Buttons". The flowers are gorgeous and, to my nose, smell like a Tootsie Roll Pop. Incrassata is a nice one, but I've only just acquired it from Gardino's. It's an easy grower, and the flowers have a lemon scent (almost like Pledge). Australis ssp. tenuipes is also one I recommend. They're all easy growers, too.

I only grow my Hoyas indoors, many do well. But I want to suggest Hoyas aren't fast growing plants, it may take some time for it to grow around your trellis.

Brad, maybe you could show her your Nikki & tell her how long you've been growing it.

I haven't had luck blooming Hoyas indoors (except for Kerri) so I grow them for foliage.

Australis did very well w/ me as well. I grow lots of unknown Pubicalyxes, Obovata & Lacunosas have done well for me.

i think any of those listed grow fine inside. they don't require a bunch of humidity to thrive and grow, just good light.

pubicalyx grows fast compared to those listed. multiflora does well (mine is almost 4 feet wide after 1 year. was about 1.5-2 ft wide when i bought it). khroniana grows fine inside too. wayetti would be a good one. there's one on ebay right now. pottsii grows well too.

obviously, the carnosas do fine indoors. my callistophylla grows fine too, believe it or not. i've had mine for 5 years and just got a peduncle. my krinkle 8 has a peduncle 1 year after purchasing and it's 2x the size. and every branch on my multiflora has at least 1 peduncle. but i don't necessarily grow my hoyas for flowers since i can't ensure optimal conditions. if they bloom, they bloom.

OK. A woman at a local farmers market sells well-established hoyas in 6" pots for around $25.00
