Viticella guestion

I have been doing searches on this forum and see that the problem I’m having is fairly common although less common with the viticellas.

From my reading there doesn’t seem to be much that can be done.

I have Etoile Violette & Venosa Violacea. This is their second yr. They grew big and bloomed well the first yr., I pruned them down in late winter and this year the growth has been wonderful and both are smothered in blossom. They also look very healthy

Now they are doing the same thing they did last yr. browning leaves starting at bottom and slowly working up the vine

I wouldn’t be so concerned except they are on pillars at the front entrance. The EV are planted with cl. Iceberg so eventually it won’t be so noticeable hopefully

So the entrance to the house is going from a glorious display of shades of purple to a dried up brown thing instead of my goodness what are those beautiful vines to your vines are dying

I think I have done everything I have read here as a possible fix...extra water, compost, mulch but nothing is helping
