I have a similar plant, and yes, you can eat the fruit once it is ripen. What color is the fruit now? It takes quite some time to fully ripen, wait for it to turn a brownish/reddish/yellowish color (not green as it won't be ripe). These fruits are delish!

Thank you for letting me know. Right now the fruit is green, and I seem to have a lot of them. My brother loves them, need to give him the good news. This plant came with a label, that said Lady Magaret. I loved the Lady Magaret mines had died. When it flowered, I saw it wasn't the correct tag, but the butterflies and bees love it. Only thing, it's very aggressive and popping up everywhere. My neighbors even did a stand for it, after seeing the flower, very beautiful. Thanks again for letting me know.

My brother tried the fruit and says it's very sweet. He loved it.
