Stairs into house from garage.

Now we need to decide on stair placement. And width.

If we should make a landing, before entering into house.

And if the Lansing should extend to the wall(12”) from door frame.

any advice?

I this were my home and I had the space that you have...I would prefer a landing at the top of the stairs that abuts the wall. A place to stand, perhaps put down a briefcase or groceries, etc. before opening the door. Imagine yourself coming in from your garage with your arms full of groceries, luggage, etc. And balancing those things while you unlock the door. Good luck with your project!

the door swings into the home, right, so you don't " need" a landing at the family garage entrance.
most important to figure out rise and run for safe steps.

We have a much taller staircase than that from our garage into the house. We have a small landing that goes all the way to the wall just like you have and I’m really glad we have it. It’s a great spot to have a really large hanging shoe rack!

By the way, I don’t keep NICE shoes on that rack, just grungy stuff like gardening shoes, casual flip flops, and work boots for the most part.

You are required to have a minimum 3x3 space at the top and bottom of all stairs.
