Here's this beautiful cool weather and I've been up all night with a sick cat. I need sleep now more then gardening since she's improved.....You are right about how much better the dark colors do in under 90 degree temperatures. Your dark purples are all luscious.......... I'm rather on the fence about most toothy daylilies, but I like the fringy edge on Betty Bush. Reminds me of some of the fringed tulips I'm seeing in my new fall bulb catalogs............Like the grouping of Summer, Francis and Baja. A cheery trio............Maryl

Wonderful, luscious colors on your daylilies! Betty Bush is a new one to me. I'm going to have to check that one out. Spacecoast Francis Busby catches my eye every time. Your seedling is outstanding.

The purples really are vivid, aren't they? The Ultimate Sacrifice really is a showstopper. I had a 1st bloom on Dr. Jules M.v. yesterday, I don't think the color was quite as pretty as yours. Betty Bush is very, well it goes beyond toothy, doesn't it? I like it.

More lovely blooms today, my vote goes to Sam Abell. Private Reserve is gorgeous, does it usually open well for you, cool temps the problem? Your seedling is wonderful, looks like a more pronounced edge than it’s parent?

Faith That Moves Mountains looks like rich velvet. And Sam Abell is so pretty. And to have another perfect specimen on Private Reserve-wow-I have not seen one bloom worth a photo on either it or Magician’s Magic this season. And your seedling....just sumptuous-you are correct-all are deeper richer colors!

Hoosier Nan and Nancy 6b - Betty Bush is a great one. I posted lots of photos last year, but you just forgot them. Chad Bush named this daylily for his mom, so you know it's special.

Sherry and Kate - Private Reserve opens later in the morning here, and when night temps are low it opens even later. The more pressing problem with it is splotchiness because of our heavy dew. I would say one out of every four blooms is unblemished here. I would not recommend this daylily because of the splotchiness. I have gotten quite a few good photos of it over the years.

Kate - Faith that Moves Mountains is very velvety looking. It was new last fall, and then I moved it this spring when I saw it wasn't getting enough sun. So it's scapes are short. I think it will be an outstanding plant after it settles in a bit.

This post is sure to cost me...I adore Ultimate Sacrifice...That is a perfect bloom to me; So gorgeous. Francis Busby and friends...Another stunner! Sam Abel, Private Reserve, that lovely clump of Heavenly Snow White. Every picture is beautiful...and yes, the cool I so rarely get does both deepen colors, leave purple purle not wine, and keep them from opening well. Love this post, Debra. Just love it.
