Can you give us a layout?

What has to stay? What are you willing to let go?

If possible I would love to keep most of it, since we are on a budget, however I'm willing to drop the red chair and wicker chair next to it . I'm also willing to reapulster them if need be! Sorry, I don't have the measurements but I drew a quick layout. :)

Put ceiling light on dimmer and use as infrequently as possible. Much better lighting in a living room is a large table lamp or sconce in each corner (creates even illumination). Yes, donate the red and wicker chairs. Wall decor is needed. Visit your local art gallery. Wall decor can be a wide range of items. It can be a traditional framed print, a tapestry, or an iron piece. I'm not keen on the pillows or rug in front of the tv. Color is needed, if that goes with your style. See if you can switch pillows and rug out for turquoise or blue patterns. You can have two different patterns if:

1. They are very similar colors, and

2. one is a big or medium sized print and one is small.

Bring these colors into the wall decor. Have an overall plan before you buy anything. Organize this with a binder, loose leaf paper, tabs, and categories: budget, pictures of decor ideas, vendors, overall plan, wish list. Haphazard pieces here and there don't give a unified look. That being said, don't get so matchy matchy that it looks boring. Take time to get pieces you love. Since you are on a budget, shop in your home first. Look in other rooms and see what you can borrow. I spend most of my time in the living room, so I want my favorite pieces there. The four plants at the window look like little toy soldiers ready for battle. Get them together at one end and add a tall and medium piece for a nice grouping.
