Sum & Substance is this normal?

I have two S&S and both show this same discoloration. One is a little more than the other. The one is in its 3rd year and is growing very well. They get very little sun and I can't imagine they are lacking water what with all the rain we've had this year. I'm thinking it is just a trait of S&S?

The second picture, the leaf on the left is just sun glare.

    I have 8 in various sun/shade conditions and I've never seen it.
